Church and Football Club working together

Monday 28 July 2008 - 22:36:28 in Fund Raising & Charity
Holy Trinity Junior Football Club is very grateful for the support, both financial and in other ways, that it receives from the Holy Trinity Church here in Hazlemere.
Instead of us having to hire equipment, we are always grateful to the church for allowing us to borrow a public address system for our main summer events (Hazlemere Sixes and our BBQ/Presentations day). In return, the football club makes a donation to the church. This year the money has gone towards funding the children's work within Ocean Kids which has 4 age groups of children - a creche, 2-5s (pre-school), 5-7s and 7-11s.
In a letter to HTJFC, Jane Montgomery writes "I am writing on behalf of Ocean Kids to thank you for the generous donation which you made to our children's work. We have over 40 children who regularly attend our groups on Sunday mornings and the money will benefit many of them next term as they are individually presented with brand new copies of Bible study notes. They are encouraged to follow these by themselves and with their families.
Thank you once again for the very generous cheque and for your support to Ocean Kids. May i take this opportunity to wish you every success in the coming season."

Fancy a good read? Then try one of these!
You'll Win Nothing with Kids by Jim White "This is the hilarious chronicle of Jim White's time as manager of his son's football team. At this level, winning spirit is not so much about passion, pride and belief as praying that your star centre forward has remembered to bring his boots! Most importantly, it's about the enduring relationship between fathers, sons and football."
Never Walk Alone by Gavin Peacock and Alan Comfort Gavin Peacock, a Christian since the age of 19 is the BBC pundit and former Chelsea and Newcastle midfield player who wrote this excellent book along with Alan Comfort, a winger-turned-reverend who is club chaplain at Leyton Orient.
Fathers, Sons and Football by Colin Shindler The story of three generations of one unique family, the Summerbees, whose trade has been professional football.
My Father and other Working-Class Football Heroes by Gary Imlach "The most emotionally charged and moving sports book I think I've ever read" (Daily Mail) William Hill Sports Book of the Year 2005

We are delighted to welcome back to Holy Trinity Juniors FC, Gerry Barrett who will resume his previous position as Team Manager of HT Thistle and also take over our newly created position as Director of Football.
Gerry, who holds the FA Level 2 Coaching Badge, left us last year to support his son Mark who spent a year in Wycombe Wanderers Centre of Excellence.
He has a number of good ideas for the future development of our youngsters and the coaching tips which already feature on this site (Coaches Area) are a visible sign on his enthusiasm in this role.
Gerry will also be assisting with our players' club registrations this season.
More to follow no doubt.

League launches new website and new divisions
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
Friday 04 July 2008 - 17:40:46 in Website News
The Chiltern Church Junior Football league has now set up its own website www.ccjfl.net to give details of all league and cup fixtures, results and other information.
This will replace the use of Full Time the Football Association's own service which we have used for a number of years.
Here on www.htjfc.org we will continue to bring you as much as we can about the Holy Trinity Teams and other information, so keep both sites in your Favourites.
As mentioned at our recent AGM, the league is moving to single year age groups for Under 14's and below so the divisions will now be known as:
Under 16's : Jaguars Under 14's : Panthers Under 13's : Cougars Under 12's : Lions Under 11's : Leopards Under 10's : Tigers Under 9's : Lynxes Under 8's : Bobcats Under 7's : Ocelots
Any name changes for HT Teams will be announced shortly
