Registration for Next Season

HTJFC LogoWe have already had to start thinking about next season – 2012-2013  – for certain reasons.

At the start of the current season last September, we found ourselves with more than an ideal number of children registered in some age groups and not enough in others. With a large number, it becomes difficult to give everyone  a game sometimes.
Some teams were unable to field a team until they had recruited more players.

To overcome that, we will be asking all existing players to sign up for next season on Saturdays 5th and 12th May - full details to be advised.

To help parents, there will be a one-off offer of a £5 subsidy towards the renewal HTJFC subscriptions, which are other unchanged, only for anyone registering by the 19th May. This excludes the Under 6 Academy where the football is FREE and we just collect £10 towards your family membership of the Hazlemere Sports Association Pavilion

Then on Saturday 19th May, we will be open to receive new applications to fill up the gaps in certain squads on a first come first served basis.

So it will be important for all existing HTJFC players to book their places on time.

Kestrels Fly High With Success

HTJFC LogoThe Holy Trinity Kestrels were involved in a Wycombe Wanderers’ run 6 a side tournament last Saturday held at Handycross Sports Centre.

The boys  had a great time and did incredibly well – winning all their games and going on to win the tournament outright !!!

There were 5 teams involved ( HT Kestrels / Wycombe Wanderers A / Wycombe Wanderers B / LBER / Chalfonts ) and they all played 4 games. Whilst FA rules prevent us from declaring results for Under 8s, the Kestrels scored 11 goals in their 4 games and only conceded one!

Each of the players received a Wycombe Wanderers medal and an activity book and all went home with a huge amount of pride ( especially the coaches ) !!

They finished the day off by watching Wycombe Wanderers win 3 – 0 against Rochdale at Adams Park and the boys even got to do a lap of honour of the ground at half time waving to all 4,285 fans !!!

What a great day and a great result for HT Kestrels!!

Christmas Party

Holy Trinity Juniors FC held it’s annual Christmas party at the Ken Williams Memorial Pavilion at Hazlemere Rec on Saturday 17th December.

This was an opportunity for managers, coaches, helpers and parents to relax together away from the touchline. Clubs like Holy Trinity are hugely indebted to the “army” of helpers who keep everything running smoothly. It takes a considerable effort from many, many people. The Christmas party was an opportunity to thank four of these stars, in particular, for years of dedicated hard work and they were each presented a bottle of “Holy Trinity” wine as a thank you!

Mo Zouine (second from left) was manager of our under 13 team  HTTroopers until he stepped down earlier this season. Mo was also the Club’s official photographer, recording many of the club’s events such as Hazlemere Sixes, the end-of-season Barbecue and squad photos for use in calendars.

Karen Barr (third from right) was the Manager of our under 16 girls team “HT Angels” until they sadly folded earlier this season due to lack of players. Karen helps out at many club functions, most notably slaving behind the barbecue grills at the annual awards day. Karen is currently helping Chris Bis with the under 6 Academy, helping to pass on her enthusiasm and knowledge to a new generation of footballers.

John Horton (third from left) ran the HT Academy and HT Academy United teams for many years until they “retired” after under 16 level. Following that, John was our vice-chairman for several years before stepping down at the last AGM. John is now a director of Hazlemere Sports Association Ltd which runs the Pavilion, so the club are able to keep in close contact with John through events like this Christmas party.

Russell Thomas (second from right) is “Mr Holy Trinity”. He’s coached a number of teams through the years (many years) and is always thinking up new ways to benefit the club. For several years Russ was our Chairman before stepping down at the last AGM to concentrate on being a director of HSAL like John. Russ continues to manage our u16 team “HT Thistle”.

Also featured in this picture are the hardworking Club Secretary Kevin Bennett ( far left) and Club Chairman Paul Baldock (far right)

So, thank you to everyone associated with making the club as successful as it is, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Roaring success as local tournament goes with a bang!

On Saturday 5th November our two HT U10 teams, Knights & Mariners invited our friends from Westwood Park to take part in a mini tournament at Hazlemere Rec.

mariners-2010Being blessed with two large squads, Knights & Mariners (pictured right) were able to select squads of 9 players for the tournament and still have just enough to play a 7-a-side friendly whilst the tournament was taking place so it was a true firework feast of U10 footie.

The tournament was a huge success with some great football, terrific goals and fine saves. Most importantly it was played in a tremendous spirit with big smiles and handshakes all round after the games. Over the 4 games played, each team won at least once so everybody went home happy!

Westwood are now looking at arranging a similar event in the Spring and we all look forward to meeting up again then.

Falcons are up and flying!

Newly formed HT Falcons played their first and second games of the season on 1st October against St Marys Harefield Colts. The management team of Adrian, Jodie and Trevor had arranged the boys into an impressive team with good distribution of the ball and some fine runs on goal.

They lost the first game narrowly but won the second. The lads seemed to enjoy the games and looked terrific in their new red/blue striped kit.
